Hamdiyah Alhassan (PhD) is an Associate Professor in Development Economics at the Department of Economics. She is the Director of Kazuhiko Takeuchi Centre for Sustainability and Resilience, University for Development Studies, Tamale, Ghana and lectures in Environmental and Resource Economics, Advanced Mathematics for Economists, Applied Statistics and Mathematics for Economists. She is a development economist with interests in environmental and energy/resources economics and policy, solid waste management, pro-environmental behaviour, food security and climate change adaptation and mitigation. She has published research articles on a wide range of topics, including environmental valuation, pro-environmental behaviour, energy economics, solid waste management, food security and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
