Olaide Ruth Aderibigbe is passionate about improving the health and nutrition status of individuals and populations through quality and evidence-based research and practice. With a background in Biochemistry at both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree level from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, she started her career as a Research Scientist at the National Horticultural Research Institute (NIHORT), Nigeria where she explores nutrition-sensitive research topics. She bagged her PhD in Nutrition from the North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa and has risen through the ranks to become an Assistant Director of Research at NIHORT. She also works on a part-time basis as an Associate Lecturer at the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Ibadan.
Olaide has led and partnered in many international and national projects. Some of her research outputs include innovative and value-added food products from indigenous crops and training manuals on food processing. Olaide also offers nutrition consultancy services; including nutrition surveys and assessments. She engages in community services to empower rural women. Till date, she has 1 book, 2 book chapters, 27 peer reviewed journals and over 25 conference papers to her credit. During her leisure time, she enjoys dancing and seeing movies with friends at a cinema.
