James Atta Peprah is Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Applied Economics at the School of Economics, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He holds Ph. D in Economics, MPhil in Economics and Bilingual MBA (Banking and Finance). He is part-qualified Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants-Ghana). His areas of research include development economics, financial market and institution in developing countries, microfinance, economic growth and development as well as small and medium scale enterprise (SMEs) development. James is the principal editor of Financial Sector Development in Ghana Exploring Bank Stability, Financing Models, and Development Challenges for Sustainable Financial Markets, a book published by Palgrave Macmillan. He has also published a number of research articles that focus on SMEs, microfinance and poverty in Ghana, Sub-Saharan Africa and Africa. He teaches courses in Economics and Finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Prof. Peprah has rich experience in consultancy services. He has engaged in several training assignments for microfinance institutions and owners of SMEs.
