Adebayo Musediku Shittu is a Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He holds Bachelor of Agriculture degree from the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye; M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan; and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. His research interests include applied microeconomic analysis, agrifood sector development & policy analysis, and economics of natural resources and the environment. He has to his credit three books and over 70 scientific publications, and have completed supervision of about 120 Bachelor, 30 Masters and nine doctoral candidates. He has served as a Consultant to several national and international organisations, including the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations; AUC – Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa; Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa; IDH – The Sustainable Trade Initiative; and some World Bank or International Fund for Agricultural Development funded agricultural development in Nigeria. He is a member of International Association of Agricultural Economists, Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, North-eastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association, Nigerian Association of Agricultural Economists, African Growth and Development Policy Consortium, and Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria.
